Founder Cashmere Nicole took to social media to announce the closure of Beauty Bakerie and sending clients to retailers to purchase products while they last. She also linked to a Christian podcast called “Silence and Song” she started last year.WHO: Founded by Cashmere Nicole in 2019 and tapping into the desires of a largely millennial demographic, Beauty Bakerie gained a strong online following by engaging a like-minded tribe with a sweet tooth for makeup. A digitally native brand, they garnered a massive Instagram following of over a million users not just by enhancing the customer experience and prioritizing engagement, but more importantly, by doing so with positive messaging and altruistic donations to social causes their customers care most about. Beauty Bakerie disrupted the industry with high-quality and worry-free formulas based on the proposition of being “Better not Bitter.”IN THEIR OWN WORDS: On Instagram, the brand wiped its feed clean with the exception of a single post announcing the closure: “Thank you so much for being a part of this journey. This is an end for sure, but also an evolution, a carrying forward of the essence of what The Lord was able to do here, through us all, into new places, spaces, and missions, guided by the wisdom He so generously gives. He calls us to a deeper place—to follow a path lit not by our own ambitions and interests but His.”DETAILS:Beauty Bakerie announced the business will shut down. By its closure, the brand had reached 2,000-plus retail doors, including Amazon, Ulta Beauty, CVS, and Target.Crunchbase estimates Beauty Bakerie raised $14.7 million in total funding.
